Colombo City Observatory welcomes you for planetary observations !!!!!!!
March is one of the best months to observe our night sky from Colombo. So City Observatory management have decided to provide a rare opportunity to observe the night sky through telescopes. This session is open for any person who is willing to observe the wonders of the sky.
This session is planned to observe Venus, Jupiter, Mars, Star Clusters, Nebulea and the Moon in the same evening sky. Observers can observe the positions of the four main satellites of Jupiter, the belts of Jupiter and the complex craters of the Moon on the same day. Uranus also can be observed if the sky is crystal clear.
This will be our final observation session of the year, as the onset of the monsoon season will soon make sky watching challenging. With increased cloud cover and atmospheric disturbances, observing celestial objects, especially planets, will become difficult. We invite you to join us for this last opportunity to explore the night sky before the monsoon sets in.
Participants are able to see the objects from the most modern telescope in Sri Lanka (14" RC observatory grade telescope) with other sophisticated telescopes. Never miss the experience !!!
Participants should be 11 years and upward only.
